Soui, Kataki Empty
PostSubject: Soui, Kataki   Soui, Kataki EmptyFri Dec 18, 2009 2:57 am

Name: Kataki Soui

Nick name/alias: Kat, Kata, Taki

Rank: Lieutenant, not really elite, but kind of there

Age: 20

Visual Age: 11

Gender: Female

Division: 4

Personality: She used to be a happy and normal girl, but something came into her life and she changed completely. She started to hate life and how everything worked. She was a tortured soul and just couldn't do anything the same anymore. Depression struck her and all she had was sadness. She learned that she got a pleasure in healing people, her own scars leading to her hobby.

Picture: Warning: It's big!
Spoiler:

Physical Appearance: Ruby hair flows down to her shoulders, matching the string on her neck, holding the precious gem. Her lavender eyes stand out on her, not matching anything else on her bare body. She's very skinny, because of the many times she's refused to eat, but isn't dying because there are people that force her food. Her skin is fairly pale, but perfect, except for the slightly visible scar on her cheek, the giant circle of scar tissue on her stomach, and the leftover mark of a footprint on her leg.

Clothing: She wears the normal shinigami uniform, but added a lavender trim to the sleeves. A thick lavender strap reaches over one shoulder, holding the bag at her waist, filled with medical supplies. She carries a crutch under her right arm to support the injury she received.

Traits:
Likes: Medically helping people, animals, something special...
Dislikes: Social events, fighting, something special...

History/Background: She was born in the Rukon district 37, by a human and a shinigami. She was mostly shinigami, though, her human side not so visible. She didn't like the way her life was working. The other kids everywhere would tease her about her parents, and it was just irritating, so she avoided other children. When she was walking around outside, hiding in the alley to avoid a small group of children, she found something on the ground. It looked like a ragged piece of paper, but something drew her towards it. She picked it up and straightened it out. It was a lotto ticket. Odd. She didn't have any coins on her, something else would have to do... her fingers scratched away the metallic covering that hid the symbols. It hurt a bit, getting all the stuff under her fingernails, but this was a chance at something. She found a 7, it wasn't much. Another 7, this was just false luck, it didn't mean anything. A final 7. But, how. Her life couldn't end up with something good, that just didn't happen. She put the paper in her pocket and walked out onto the streets, returning home. She got into her bed and fell asleep very early that night. She slept for a long time, waking up in the afternoon. She had nothing going on that day, so she didn't have anybody wake her up. As she was getting out of her bed, she heard an odd noise. Her hand reached for her pocket and pulled the paper out. This was real. She had won a ton of money, hadn't she? She went to her parents, who checked the ticket, found it real, and were amazed. The next day they cashed in the money and right away moved. They moved to district 4. Everything was different. The houses were bigger. The food was better. Almost all the people were jerks. She didn't fit in here, either, so she walked the streets, which were unusually clean. She felt something weird. Like there was something in the air. Something powerful. Then, the fight broke out. It was between a captain and a shinigami of no division. She knew, because she had studied the shinigami, and talked with the few that came by her old district. The fight went nowhere at first. Then, the thing that changed her life came by. The division-less shinigami looked through the crowds. She locked eyes with Kat. The giant blade was flying towards her. She was going to die today... After a couple seconds she opened her eyes and she was just being corralled closer to the rogue. She was held tightly in front of this girl, a blade next to her face. She felt something sharp down her cheek, and then a liquid dripping down it. She was a hostage. She was being used as a threat, as a tool to get something. A finger lightly caressed her cheek and started to feel her hair. What would happen to her? She noticed she was crying. It was a decent time to do so, so she didn't stop. The captain still wasn't coming to her rescue. Was it true they really didn't care about the districts? The scythe was now jammed in the ground. This girl was strong. Maybe as strong as the captain. A knife came up next to her face. She felt even more pain as the knife dug deeper into her cheek. Tears poured out her eyes and a line of it went through the red spot, burning it. She felt a blunt object press against her cheek and it was on fire. She squealed in pain, resisting the shake her head wanted to take on, knowing it would only make this worse. Still, the captain did nothing. She felt some pressure on her shoulders, not too bad, until she noticed what was happening. Her shirt fell off and a furious blush burned up in her face, cause more blood to spout from her cut. The captain responded to this. Now he was behind them. Pretty amazing... why didn't he do this earlier? The girl was yelling about something, but the panic Kat felt drowned out all the sounds she heard. Suddenly she felt the worst pain in the world. A sharp pain in her stomach. She tried to double up, but it just hurt more when she did. She didn't hold it back anymore. A shrill scream of pain left her mouth as more tears poured out her eyes. She was trying to scream "Help!" but the word just didn't fit into the pain. A random cut came up on her kidnapper and the blood started to pour all over her, seeping into her cuts. If this girl had diseases, she might get them now. She started to struggle again, but the pain was unbearable, she couldn't move. This pain couldn't get any worse, could it? She felt the hand smack down on her stomach. She was going to vomit. This was too much. Her breathing started to move uneasily. She was laid on the ground and a hand stroked over her hair. She heard a sympathetic "Sorry" before the pain overwhelmed her leg and she blacked out. She woke in her bed, which was filled with blood. Her stomach was wrapped in a tight gauze, her face had a bandage taped to it, and her leg felt like a rock. She moan and shook a bit, vomiting the little bit of food left in her off to the side of the bed. She fell asleep again. The next week was just her phasing in and out of sleep. Sometimes people were checking on her, sometimes she was alone, sometimes she was just in absolute pain. She woke one morning and noticed that life really wasn't as pointless as she thought it was, maybe there was something to do. She tore the blanket off to see what she looked like. Her stomach still had a bandage on it, but this was new and clean. She felt her face and the bandage was gone, just a small scar was left. Her leg still felt like a rock, and it had a wooden splint on it. "Hello?" She spoke out with a painful, raspy voice, but a response came. Her mom came in and explained to her the predicament. Her face healed up fine. Her stomach was going to be repaired, but it would be sore for a couple years. Her leg, though. Something odd happened to it. Some tendon in it, some plate in there moved in the wrong direction and it wasn't fixable. Her mom left the room as she started to sulk. Her leg would be injured for the rest of her life, her stomach would be in pain for a long time, she was still a child. She couldn't do anything... She saw a crutch at the edge of the bed, prepared for her. It wasn't hard to operate, so she was walking around after a slight while. She was still in pain, but she was moving, at least. She went outside, leaving without her parents knowing. She walked. The streets were stained with blood. She vomited again, all over the ground, and she continued to walk. She walked on. Further and further. She was at the giant wall that separated the Rukongai and the Sereitei. Her hand reached out and touched the forcefield. She could tell how powerful it was. Suddenly, a blue light flashed from her hand and she started to feel weak. A black-robed person, probably a shinigami, came up to her. They talked, but Kat didn't listen, she just kept nodding. Once he reached the end of the conversation, she heard "Do you wanna try out in the academy?". She made a full, genuine nod and was lifted and, somehow, carried into the SS. She didn't do anything special in the academy. She learned some kido, excelling in Bakudo, only. She could fight with the crutch she had, and learned to use a sword, one-handed, in the other hand. Eventually she passed. She was placed into the 4th division. Her healing was done quite well. She didn't want anyone to have such an injury that it would ruin how they lived, like what happened to her. The hard work payed off and she was pushed up to Lieutenant position in the seating. And this, children, is where the real story starts...
